Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Bookkeeper to join our growing team in Irvine. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting the overall accounting functions of the company. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, experience with accounting software, and the ability to handle confidential financial information with professionalism and accuracy.
Responsibilities
• Maintain accurate financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
• Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports including balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and cash flow reports
• Process payroll, employee deductions, and tax setups accurately and on time
• Assist with tax preparation and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
• Support audit preparation and maintain organized financial documentation
• Manage invoicing, expense reports, and general ledger entries
• Handle filing, correspondence, emails, and other administrative support tasks as needed
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls
What We’re Looking For
• Previous bookkeeping or accounting experience required
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and reconciliations
• Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar platforms
• Strong Excel and data entry skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information
First 90 Days Expectations
First 30 Days:
• Learn company financial processes, systems, and procedures
• Complete onboarding and accounting software training
• Begin assisting with daily bookkeeping tasks and reconciliations
• Become familiar with financial reports and company records
Days 31–60:
• Take ownership of daily accounting operations including AP/AR, payroll, and reconciliations
• Assist with monthly reporting and budget preparation
• Identify process improvements and support team initiatives
Days 61–90:
• Independently manage assigned bookkeeping responsibilities
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
• Reconcile outstanding discrepancies and support quarterly reporting
• Present recommendations for process improvements to management
