Senior Project Manager – Construction
Location: Gunnison, CO
Compensation: $140,000–$170,000 annually (DOE)
AppleOne is partnering with a growing construction and industrial services company to hire a Senior Project Manager to lead large-scale projects and mentor a high-performing project management team.
Position Summary
The Senior Project Manager provides overall leadership for project execution, financial performance, and team development. This role oversees multiple mid-to-large projects or serves as Lead PM on major projects ($50M ), working closely with senior leadership to drive operational excellence and future growth.
Key Responsibilities
Provide overall leadership for project delivery, schedule, budget, and profitability
Lead and mentor Project Managers, Engineers, and Coordinators; support training and performance development
Oversee preconstruction efforts including estimates, constructability reviews, schedules, logistics, and bid packages
Lead pursuit efforts including RFQs, RFPs, and lump-sum bids
Review project cost reports and financial performance; report to senior leadership
Identify, analyze, and mitigate project risks
Support Project Managers with complex jobsite issues (change orders, procurement, logistics)
Build and maintain strong subcontractor and partner relationships
Contribute to process improvement and business development initiatives
Assist with recruiting, hiring, and annual performance reviews of project management staff
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
Proven experience managing large, complex construction projects and/or multiple concurrent projects
Experience serving as Lead PM on projects exceeding $50M strongly preferred
Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and modern technology tools (AI familiarity a plus)
VISTA accounting/project management software experience preferred
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Experience on long-term projects preferred
