Solutions Architect
Location: Leawood, KS (Hybrid – Wednesdays in-office)
Employment Type: Full-Time
About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on Solutions Architect to join our team and help modernize our Nursing education platform. This role combines high-level solution design with hands-on implementation, working closely with cross-functional teams to create scalable, secure, and innovative solutions. You will lead architectural decisions, drive modernization from monolithic systems to microservices, and introduce new technologies to enhance platform capabilities.
Work Arrangement
- Primary Location: Leawood office
- Hybrid Schedule: Minimum one day per week in-office (Wednesdays are designated team days)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership through architecture discussions, documentation, and design reviews
- Develop conceptual and logical architectures aligned with business and technology goals
- Lead modernization initiatives, transitioning from monolithic architecture to microservices
- Collaborate with engineering teams on hands-on coding, reusable components, and integrations
- Advocate for DevOps and CI/CD practices, ensuring scalability and automation
- Ensure security, reliability, and performance across all solutions
- Introduce and integrate new technology stacks and AI-driven solutions
- Act as the ultimate technical owner for assigned platforms, including governance and lifecycle management
Core Technical Requirements
- Microsoft Technologies (Non-negotiable):
- C# and .NET Core
- Angular (front-end development)
- SQL Server (primary database)
- Architecture & Infrastructure:
- Microservice architecture experience
- Kubernetes for container orchestration and scaling
- Experience with auto-scaling solutions
- Legacy system modernization expertise
Additional Skills:
- AI implementation experience (agentic AI tools like Claude, Windsor, Copilot)
- Java knowledge (plus)
- Familiarity with GitHub Copilot and modern development tools
- Strong understanding of security practices and vulnerability management
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 6 years of cumulative IT experience (4 years in software architecture/design)
- 3 years implementing Microsoft .NET applications
- Deep expertise in .NET Framework, C#, ASP.NET Core, Azure, SQL Server
- Strong understanding of software design patterns, enterprise integration, and cloud architecture
- Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
- Hands-on approach with ability to support large teams (~130 offshore/onshore staff)
Salary : $140,000 - $150,000
