Retail Construction Superintendent
Myrtle Beach, SC or Charlotte, NC | Full-Time | On-Site
A growing and well-established commercial construction company is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee retail construction projects from pre-construction through completion. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on construction leader with experience managing retail, commercial, or similar fast-paced projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day field operations for retail construction projects
- Manage subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget
- Coordinate with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients throughout the construction process
- Maintain project schedules and ensure critical milestones are met
- Monitor workmanship, site safety, and compliance with plans, specifications, and building codes
- Lead site meetings and coordinate inspections
- Identify and resolve construction issues and potential schedule delays
- Review plans, drawings, and specifications and communicate changes to the field team
- Maintain accurate project documentation and daily reports
- Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality
Qualifications
- 5 years of commercial construction experience, preferably in retail or fast-paced construction
- Previous experience as a Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, or similar field leadership role
- Strong understanding of construction processes, scheduling, and subcontractor management
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Strong knowledge of jobsite safety practices
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with construction project management/scheduling software is a plus
- Willingness to travel locally as required
