Job Title: Procurement Advisor (Technical Purchasing)

Summary

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Advisor to lead purchasing and contract management activities for technical equipment, systems, software, and engineered products. This role focuses on managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and developing sourcing strategies that support business goals, especially within private telecommunications and wireless network environments.

Key Responsibilities

Negotiate pricing, terms, and long-term contracts with suppliers to achieve cost savings and ensure compliance with company policies.

Prepare and process purchase orders, requisitions, and contractual documents.

Identify and implement cost reduction and process improvement initiatives.

Collaborate with internal teams to understand requirements and align procurement strategies with business objectives.

Conduct supplier performance reviews and risk assessments; develop mitigation plans as needed.

Monitor supplier capacity and production readiness to meet delivery and quality requirements.

Apply financial analysis, activity-based costing, and supply chain principles to support sourcing decisions.

Lead or support project management activities related to procurement and supplier management.

Maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain, or related field, OR

Equivalent experience (minimum 10 years in lieu of degree).

Experience:

7 years in supply chain, procurement, or contract management.

Strong experience in RFX processes, contract negotiation, and supplier management.

Preferred: experience in private telecommunications systems or wireless/cellular network procurement.

Required Skills And Attributes

Strong knowledge of financial analysis, activity-based costing, and supply chain methodologies.

Proven ability to negotiate complex contracts and manage supplier performance.

Experience with project management tools and methods.

Ability to perform root cause analysis and develop risk mitigation strategies.

Skilled in cost reduction, category management, and procurement compliance.

Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.

Ability to work independently and make decisions with moderate to significant business impact.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and strategic thinking.

Work Environment

Works cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and finance teams.

Exercises autonomy and judgment in negotiating, problem-solving, and managing supplier relationships.

May act as a project leader for procurement-related initiatives.
