What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paralegal position at AppleOne Employment Services?
This position is based in the Cherry Hill, NJ office. It is mainly on-site but there is flexibility to work from home when needed.
Salary is negotiable and dependent upon experience.
Position Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented, professional paralegal capable of upholding this high standard while supporting attorneys in delivering exceptional results for high-net-worth clients.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with all aspects of estate and trust administration, including managing case progression from initial planning through final distribution.
Prepare and file estate and inheritance tax returns, gift tax returns, fiduciary income tax returns, and related forms.
Perform estate and trust accountings, including asset valuation, marshalling of assets, tracking distributions, bill payments, and reconciliations.
Draft and organize estate planning documents such as wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, living wills, health care directives, and beneficiary designations.
Support probate processes by preparing petitions, inventories, accountings, deeds, and other court filings; coordinate with courts, beneficiaries, financial institutions, and appraisers.
Conduct legal research, gather and analyze financial and asset information, and prepare correspondence, transfer documents, and tax calculations.
Maintain accurate records, monitor deadlines, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations in estate and trust matters.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Paralegal certificate from an accredited program would be great but is NOT required. Bachelor's degree is, again, preferred but not required.
7–10 years of experience working on trust and estate matters, with strong focus on estate/trust administration, probate, and tax return preparation (preferred).
Proficiency in specialized estate and tax software is preferred.
Software Used:
ProSeries (Intuit – tax return preparation)
FAS/FATE (Thomson Reuters – estate & trust accounting and estate/inheritance tax returns for NJ & PA)
