Heating Air Conditioning Service Technician

About the Role

We are seeking experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technicians to join a growing service team in Connecticut. This role focuses on diagnostics, troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance of commercial HVAC systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC systems and components
• Perform preventative maintenance and equipment startups
• Service RTUs, chillers, boilers, VAV systems, heat pumps, split systems, and hydronic systems
• Troubleshoot control systems, frequency drives, and central plant equipment
• Handle refrigeration piping, including brazing and soldering
• Evaluate systems and recommend upgrades or efficient repair solutions
• Accurately estimate time and materials for service work
• Maintain tools, equipment, and job site accountability
• Complete service documentation accurately and on time
• Communicate effectively with customers and internal technical teams
• Follow all safety procedures and applicable codes

Qualifications

• Valid Connecticut HVAC License (S1, S2, D1, or D2) – Required
• 3–5 years of commercial HVAC service experience
• Currently employed in an HVAC service role (strongly preferred)
• Strong experience in diagnostics and troubleshooting
• Hands-on experience with chillers, boilers, controls, and commercial systems
• Knowledge of local codes, safety standards, and regulations
• OSHA 10 certification (preferred)
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently in the field

Work Schedule

• On-call rotation (approximately every 4 weeks)
• Overtime and emergency service availability required
