Architect
Phoenix, AZ | Direct Hire | $85K–$95K DOE
A growing commercial design-build firm is seeking an experienced Architect to join their collaborative team environment. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys being hands-on, taking ownership of projects, and working closely with clients, municipalities, engineers, contractors, and internal construction teams throughout the full project lifecycle.
This role is heavily focused on project coordination, drawing oversight, permitting, and construction understanding. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a smaller office environment where initiative, communication, and problem-solving are highly valued.
This is not a corporate architecture environment. The team is looking for someone who enjoys contributing ideas, collaborating closely with others, and being involved in every stage of a project from concept through permitting and construction coordination.
Responsibilities
- Manage commercial projects from concept through permitting
- Oversee and guide drafter/designers in drawing development
- Coordinate directly with municipalities, consultants, contractors, engineers, and inspectors
- Assist with project scheduling, permitting timelines, and workflow coordination
- Review drawings for constructability, permitting, and field coordination
- Support preconstruction and build teams with drawing updates and coordination
- Track project budgets, schedules, and production progress
- Manage multiple active projects simultaneously

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or related field preferred
- 5 years of experience within a commercial architectural environment
- Experience beyond a Drafter/Designer level
- Strong AutoCAD proficiency required
- Experience managing commercial tenant improvement and/or ground-up projects
- Strong understanding of permitting, city processes, and construction administration
- Ability to coordinate consultants, engineers, and internal teams
- Experience leading or overseeing 1–2 drafter/designers preferred
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and proactively solve problems
Technical Requirements
- AutoCAD proficiency required
- Revit knowledge is a plus
- Google Workspace experience required
- Familiarity with Adobe Pro DC, Microsoft Office, and project management tools preferred
Salary : $85,000 - $95,000
