Position Summary Information
| Primary Purpose | The Academy at Middle Fork is a UNC System lab school that is operated by Appalachian State University in partnership with Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools. The Curriculum Coach serves as the instructional leader of their grade level span. They are responsible for bringing evidence-based practices into classrooms with the goal of increasing student engagement, improving student achievement, and building teacher capacity. The Curriculum Coach facilitates a learning environment that promotes team members to think deeply and critically about learning that is meaningful and relevant to their students' culture, lives, and future. They focus on individual and group professional development that will expand and refine the understanding of research-based effective instruction. The Curriculum Coach models professional behaviors conducive to building a collaborative and collegial working environment that is centered on team teaching. They also serve as a member of the Academy's leadership team. |
