Position Summary
The Right of Way Agent I works directly with property owners to acquire easements and other property rights needed for utility infrastructure projects. This position serves as the primary representative between our utility clients and landowners, helping explain projects, answer questions, negotiate agreements, and maintain positive relationships throughout the acquisition process.
Successful candidates are self-starters who enjoy working independently, managing their own schedules, learning new technology, and interacting with people from all walks of life.
What You’ll Do
- Meet with property owners to explain utility projects and answer questions.
- Negotiate easements and other property rights.
- Build professional relationships with landowners and community members.
- Maintain accurate Contact Reports and detailed project documentation.
- Coordinate with project managers and supervisors to meet acquisition schedules.
- Review maps, legal descriptions, and project exhibits.
- Utilize company databases, mapping software, and digital tools to manage project information.
- Travel throughout assigned project areas to meet with landowners.
- Represent AFS and our clients with professionalism and integrity.

What We’re Looking For
Previous Right of Way experience is not required.
