JOB OVERVIEW
Appalachian Field Service (AFS) is seeking a motivated Acquisition Support Specialist to support an electric utility client’s Vegetation Management program with projects across the State of Georgia. Applicants must currently reside in the State of Georgia and be self-motivated, well-spoken, and personable, with strong organizational and data-entry skills.
This role is an excellent opportunity to begin a career in the Right of Way (ROW) industry. Successful candidates will assist in land rights acquisition tasks to ensure timely and professional completion of projects.
This position requires strong time-management and organizational skills, proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, and may be performed remotely once initial training has been completed.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist Acquisition Representatives with contacting property owners who have signed Vegetation Management easements before tree crews begin vegetation removal.

Contact owners only by the method(s) and during the hours requested by the property owner.

Always identify themselves verbally and/or in writing (emails, business cards, etc.) as a supplier of the client in all communications.

Report all project activity in the client’s designated database within 24 hours.

Assist Acquisition Representatives with property rights documentation.

Assist with data entry and creating parcel lists in the client’s designated database.

Assist the Contract Coordinator with Offer Approval spreadsheets and promptly notify them via direct email of any potential issue with a property owner or any potential public-relations concern.

Assist with collecting and reporting monthly accrual data.

Assist Acquisition Representatives with creating accurate drawings/exhibits that depict easements or other property rights.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
Classification / Performance Requirements

Works to accomplish acquisition requirements with oversight from the Contract Coordinator.

Under direction of the Contract Coordinator, conducts land rights acquisition tasks, including reviewing ownership records, valuations, construction plans, and related documents.

Collaborates with the Contract Coordinator and Acquisition Representatives to resolve property-owner issues in a timely and professional manner.

Ability to prepare documents and ensure precision in data and file input and documentation.

Prepares files, progress reports, and other documentation accurately, timely, and consistently.

Ability to create accurate Exhibit A drawings on an as-needed basis.

Must currently own or be willing to obtain a Windows-based laptop for work-related duties, as other systems are not compatible with AFS or client-required programs.
Skills and Expertise Required

Comprehensive knowledge of signatures required on property-rights documents.

Proficiency in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills (bilingual in Spanish beneficial).
