Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook breakfast and lunch meals according to menu specifications and dietary guidelines
- Plan menus that accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences, ensuring variety and nutritional balance
- Handle food preparation tasks including chopping, slicing, marinating, and assembling dishes
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety standards
- Ensure proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures are followed at all times
- Assist with inventory management, including stock rotation and ordering supplies as needed
- Serve meals efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and customer service
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely meal service during busy hours
- Follow all health department regulations and safety protocols to prevent contamination or accidents
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or culinary roles within restaurants or catering services
- Knowledge of dietary department practices, menu planning, and food safety regulations
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation techniques
- Experience with fine dining or restaurant environments is preferred
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent understanding of food handling procedures and sanitation standards
- Prior experience with catering or serving is a plus
- Must be able to work flexible hours during breakfast and lunch shifts; weekend availability is advantageous
- Culinary training or certification is desirable but not mandatory
