Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Fiber & Coax Splicer to join our telecommunications team. In this role, you will be responsible for splicing, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining fiber optic and coaxial cable networks. The ideal candidate has experience with aerial and underground telecommunications systems, can interpret network prints and schematics, and is committed to delivering high-quality work while following all safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform fiber optic and coaxial cable splicing, termination, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Install, maintain, and repair telecommunications infrastructure.
  • Operate fusion splicers, OTDRs, power meters, and other testing equipment.
  • Read and interpret network design maps, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Document splice results, testing records, and completed work accurately.
  • Ensure all work meets customer specifications, company standards, and industry requirements.
  • Identify and resolve cable faults and network issues efficiently.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, OSHA guidelines, and established work practices.
  • Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles in proper working condition.

Physical & Work Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work from bucket trucks as required.
  • Ability to kneel, bend, stoop, crawl, and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to work independently in the field while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel to job sites as needed.

Experience

  • 1 years of fiber optic and/or coaxial cable splicing experience preferred.
  • Experience working with aerial, underground, and buried cable systems.
  • Familiarity with telecommunications construction and maintenance projects.
  • Proficiency with fusion splicers, OTDR testing, power meters, and related testing equipment.
  • Strong understanding of fiber color codes and telecommunications industry standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret network prints, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Preferred Certifications:
  • Fiber Optic Association (FOA) Certification
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record

Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
