What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fiber Optic Install Technician position at Axis Fiber Solutions?
The Installation Technician is responsible for performing basic to advanced installations, disconnects and service changes for residential and business customers for POTS services, IPTV, and high-speed internet services. Perform basic troubleshooting and repair for services from the fiber terminal, or the ONT to customer’s electronic devices (TV, Modem, and Wireless devices etc.). Maintain correct notes of work completed and billing codes. The installation technician will report directly to the Market Manager.
Job Responsibilities
- Install and troubleshoot services from terminal to CPE
- Provide in-depth customer education on products and services
- Upsell customer by offering additional services
- Meet key performance metrics
- Maintain professional appearance and attitude
- Enter correct notes and billing codes of work performed
- Activate in routing before 7:30 a.m. on scheduled days
- Ensure where’s my tech is activated
- Place orders for materials and equipment as needed and retrieve
- Operate and maintain company vehicle/equipment safely and professionally
- Climb ladders and utility poles
- Access attics and crawlspaces
