JOB SUMMARY
The Technical Writer will support the production of water treatment systems for industrial customers by creating, organizing, and maintaining high-quality technical documentation. This role is responsible for managing operation and maintenance (O&M) manuals, completing and compiling vendor-provided documents, and ensuring accurate, clear, and consistent written technical communication for customers, project teams, and field personnel. The ideal candidate will have strong writing and editing skills, technical acumen, and the ability to collaborate with engineers, project managers, and vendors.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop, edit, and publish Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals for water treatment systems.
Collect, review, and organize vendor documents, technical datasheets, and specifications for system handover packages.
Ensure all documentation meets industry standards, customer requirements, and company quality guidelines.
Translate complex technical concepts into clear, user-friendly instructions for industrial customers and operators.
Maintain document control practices, including versioning, formatting, and archiving of technical records.
Collaborate with project engineers, designers, and subject matter experts to gather technical details and verify accuracy.
Support standardization and continuous improvement of documentation templates and processes.
Provide editing support for project reports, proposals, and other technical communication as needed.
Adhere to and support all safety policies and guidelines.
Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent
Bachelor?s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Two (2) years of experience in technical writing, preferably in the water treatment, utilities, or industrial equipment industries.
Strong ability to write clearly and concisely for technical and non-technical audiences.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite and document publishing tools (e.g., Adobe Acrobat, InDesign, or similar).
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Three (3) plus years of experience in technical writing, preferably in the water treatment, utilities, or industrial equipment industries.
Familiarity with water treatment technologies and processes.
Proficiency in Visio.
