Duties
- Operate manual OD and ID grinding machines to produce high-precision components according to detailed blueprints and specifications
- Set up grinding equipment, including selecting appropriate tooling and adjusting machine parameters for optimal performance
- Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and other precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical specifications accurately
- Perform routine maintenance on grinding machines to ensure consistent operation and safety compliance
- Collaborate with team members on fabrication tasks involving CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, welding, and other manufacturing processes
- Maintain a clean and organized work area adhering to safety protocols at all times
- Support quality inspection processes by identifying defects or deviations from specifications and documenting findings
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing machining efficiency and product quality
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating manual grinding machines for OD and ID applications in a manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in fabrication tools such as hand tools, press brake machines, CNC equipment, welding equipment, and tooling setup
- Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T symbols with confidence
- Skilled in the use of precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other measurement tools
- Basic math skills necessary for calculating dimensions, and tolerances
- Ability to operate forklifts and cranes safely; certification preferred but not required
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work under tight tolerances ( tolerances will be around .0002 to .0005)
- Excellent teamwork skills combined with a proactive attitude toward safety and continuous learning
- Work Hours are 6:00am - 4:30pm or 7:00am - 5:30pm
- AC and Heated shop environment
