Role Overview
This Mechanical Engineering position involves design, development, and production support for mechanical designs throughout the entire life cycle. The work includes understanding requirements, concept development, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), margin analysis, and creating technical data packages (TDP). Responsibilities also involve applying geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles, conducting engineering tests, preparing technical analysis reports, and presenting data in design reviews.
Key Responsibilities
Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) is required.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in mechanical design and design documentation is required. Alternatively, an advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience will be considered.
Skills & Clearances:
The pay rate for this position ranges from $75.00 to $129.21 per hour. Compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to skills, experience, and location.

- Develop design concepts and conduct Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
- Create and manage Technical Data Packages (TDP).
- Apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing principles to designs.
- Prepare technical analysis reports and present findings in design reviews.
- Provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity.
- Interact with suppliers and manage supplier relationships.
- Travel to government and supplier facilities as required for program activities.

- U.S. citizenship is required.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance is required. An active interim clearance is needed to start.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude for problem-solving.
- An advanced degree in an Engineering discipline.
- Leadership experience with small teams.
- Experience in mechanical sub-systems packaging, materials, thermal analysis, structural analysis, energetics, control systems, interconnect, airframe, or large assembly development.
- Proficiency with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) per ANSI Y14.5.
- Experience with CREO (Pro/E) or similar 3D solid modeling software.
- Experience with PTC Windchill or equivalent Product Data Management software.
- An active DoD-issued security clearance.
