The Teen Adventure Director coordinates and oversees all daily activities for the Apex PRD Day Teen Adventure Camp. The Director must have demonstrated maturity of judgment, administrative ability, and the skill to supervise and direct school-age children in an unstructured setting to the hiring authority. The Director will provide a safe, healthy, and positive environment. Their daily responsibility is to schedule all-day field trips, team-building activities, and leadership opportunities for this age group. The Director will facilitate all field trips; discipline both to maintain positive daily outcomes and overall program management: assess the overall program to see if any changes need to be made for optimum functioning; establish a procedure for handling all difficulties related to health, behavior, and other problems and report incidents to the Recreation Coordinator.


The daily schedule will vary between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm. 
Monday through Thursday from June 6 through July 30 
Paid Training March-May


A one-time bonus in the amount of $300 will be paid to eligible part-time camp staff who work an average of 32 hours per week or more during nine of the 11 weeks listed below. Eligible camp staff include the following part-time staff: licensed director camps, licensed lead camps. Specified timeframe beginsJune 1, 2026, and ends on August 14, 2026. Eligible staff must apply by April 15, 2026. This bonus is scheduled to be paid on the August 28, 2026, payroll.

Note:  Bonuses are considered taxable income and are subject to standard tax withholdings. For example, a $300 bonus will not result in a net paycheck of $300.

  •  Must be 21 years of age

  • The Teen Adventure Director has satisfactory experience, including experience in the care and supervision of four or more children from the ages of eleven (11)-seventeen (17) years old, unrelated to the individual, since attaining the age of eighteen (18).

  • Obtains a valid Colorado Driver’s License, appropriate insurance coverage, and acceptable driving record for the past three years.

  • Ability to drive a 12-passenger van with a clean driving record.

  • Must have a satisfactory review with the Central Registry of Child Protection

  • Provide three references.

  • Will receive CPR/first aid, medication administration, and universal precautions certified required within 90 days of hire.

  • A high school diploma is required.

  • Experience caring for children, ages 11 to 15 years, in a public atmosphere is required.

  • Must have customer service experience and good conflict management skills.

  • Knowledge of youth games, activities, and arts and crafts projects is also desired.


  • Work may take place in both indoor and outdoor environments, with exposure to varying weather conditions including sun, heat, cold, snow, and humidity. 

  • Noise levels range from moderate to loud, often due to active children, group interactions, or busy transportation settings.

  • Work may occur in environments with poor acoustics, distractions, or high activity levels.

  • Occasional travel by vehicle may be required, with exposure to traffic, road construction, and varying road conditions.

Physical Activities:


  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.

  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, or sit on the floor as needed during activities or tasks.

  • Ability to reach, grasp, and handle small objects, tools, or equipment with precision.

  • Requires adequate hearing to recognize and respond to sounds, signals, or distress in a variety of environments.

  • Duties may require sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, crouching, bending, or stooping for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to monitor participants, ensure safety, and respond to signals or emergencies.

  • Ability to react quickly and appropriately to the physical needs or emergencies of children or participants
