Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed quantity takeoffs for mechanical systems, ensuring accuracy in pricing and material quantities.
- Prepare detailed bid proposals, including cost breakdowns, schedules, and risk assessments.
- Monitor project budgets during execution to support cost control efforts and identify potential overruns early.
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards.
- Review contracts, change orders, and project documentation to ensure alignment with estimates and project goals.
- Develop comprehensive mechanical cost estimates by analyzing project plans, specifications, and drawings using industry-standard software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project requirements and scope of work.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of mechanical estimating experience in HVAC
- Construction background preferred
- Strong proficiency in estimating software
- Able to read blueprints
