Maintenance Director

Responsibilities:
- Meet the maintenance needs of the facility, including recognizing hazards to resident or staff safety and taking appropriate action
- Plan and implement preventive maintenance programs and document accurately
- Supervise outside contractors and maintain weather protection against cold, heat, fire, and other hazards
- Perform errands and tasks as required, including maintaining the upkeep of the exterior of the building and grounds in all weather conditions
- Demonstrate and teach correct safety techniques, in accord with company policy and prior training
- Ensure compliance with privacy practices to protect residents' health information
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of three (3) years experience in a supervisory capacity, in maintenance/plant-related position preferred
- Knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators, and various mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and be knowledgeable in building codes and safety regulations
- Ability to make independent decisions and deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public
- Knowledge of maintenance practices and procedures as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines governing maintenance functions in a long-term care facility
- Leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise professional and non-professional personnel
- Competitive salary range: $65,000 - $72,000 annually
