Job Title: Wastewater Treatment Operator
APEL Extrusions Location: Phoenix, AZ
U.S. Position: Does not qualify for work visa/sponsorship.
SHIFT: M-Thu 10am-8pm willing to training during day shift.

APEL Extrusions, Inc. is an independent extruder, finisher and fabricator of aluminum extrusions, with six extrusion presses and a full array of finishing capabilities occupying over 600,000 square feet of modern manufacturing space employing approximately 300 people. With facilities in Calgary Canada, Coburg Oregon, and Phoenix Arizona, APEL serves the commercial, residential, and industrial markets of Western Canada and the Western United States.
Job Summary
The Wastewater Treatment Operator operates and maintains the wastewater treatment system in compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards.
Competencies/Skills
- Ability to perform calculations and read meters/gauges/instruments.
- Knowledge of chemistry.

Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Inspect and ensure the proper operation of waste equipment.
- Monitor and analyze water quality.
- Read meters, gauges, and instruments needed to monitor, meter, and regulate waste and chemical equipment.
- Collect samples and perform on-site analysis.
- Calculate and log results from laboratory data and maintain test records to prepare federal and state wastewater treatment reports.
- Manage chemical treatment processes and maintain chemical inventories.
- Maintain records for wastewater systems and chemical treatments and report failures or operating inefficiencies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Degree or equivalent.
- Preferred – college degree in chemistry or related field.
- 3 years of experience in wastewater treatment or a wastewater lab.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English.
