Duties
- Greet customers warmly, listen carefully to their vehicle concerns, and accurately document service requests.
- Explain repair recommendations clearly, providing detailed estimates using estimating software and automotive diagnostics tools.
- Upsell appropriate services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake repairs, alignments, suspension work, shocks & struts, and transmission services to enhance vehicle performance.
- Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of services.
- Manage service writing tasks efficiently while maintaining accurate records of work performed and parts used.
- Communicate effectively with clients throughout the repair process, providing updates and answering questions to ensure transparency.
- Handle cash transactions securely and maintain precise records of payments received.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Automotive Service Advisor or in a similar dealership or auto service management role.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in automotive diagnostics, collision repair, and vehicle maintenance procedures.
- Experience with estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools is highly desirable.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
- Background in auto service sales, upselling techniques, and service writing is preferred.
- Knowledge of automotive repair specialties such as transmissions, oil changes, alignments, suspension systems, tire services, shocks & struts, brake repair, etc.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to drive various vehicles confidently.
- Mechanical experience or background as a service technician is a plus for better understanding customer concerns.
