We are seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join a collaborative school district team serving K-8th grade students for the current school year.

This is an excellent opportunity for an SLP looking for a school-based position with a manageable caseload, equitable workload distribution, and strong support for clinicians.

Caseload & Workload Model

The district takes a thoughtful approach to caseload management and uses a workload model to ensure responsibilities are distributed equitably among clinicians.

The workload model was established three years ago and is reviewed and adjusted annually using new data. Rather than looking solely at the number of students on a caseload, the model considers the amount of time required for services and responsibilities.

Approximately half of the clinician's day is spent providing assigned IEP services, with the remaining time dedicated to other responsibilities such as planning, documentation, collaboration, and other student needs.

If a clinician experiences a workload or caseload overage, additional support is assigned to help reduce their total responsibilities.

Caseload Details

Most openings serve K-8th grade students, with many positions incorporating a blended elementary and middle school caseload.

You can expect:

• Average caseload of approximately 50–55 students
• Caseloads capped at 60 students
• Exposure to students with Autism and other communication needs
• A variety of speech and language disorders
• Individual and/or small-group therapy
• Collaboration with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Development and implementation of IEP goals
• Progress monitoring and documentation
• Participation in the broader educational team

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
• Active Maryland Department of Health (MD DOH) SLP License required
• ASHA CCC-SLP preferred
• Experience working with school-aged children is preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Passion for helping students achieve their academic and communication goals
