The expectation is once accepting a summer position the staff is required to report to work for the entire summer session. Paid leave is not granted during the summer sessions and staff does not receive benefits of the regular school year (i.e. sick leave, business leave, vacation days, etc.)
Summer program staff must make a commitment to be present for the ENTIRE program including all in-service days, workdays, and student instructional days. Failure to make this commitment may impact future employment with the Summer programs.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Provides services for ESY as indicated on a student’s IEP.
- Develops and implements appropriate therapeutic activities according to identified ESY goals/objectives.
- Assists with implementation of collaborative activities with other professionals.
- Assists other professionals in supporting students’ communication needs.
- Maintains current and accurate data collection regarding student performance and attendance.
- Maintains effective parent/school communication.
- Prepares and distributes progress notes at the end of the session.
- Performs other related duties as assigned within the same classification or lower.

Education
- Master's Degree in applicable field of education from a regionally accredited college or university required.

- Working knowledge of AACPS special education student database – TIENET.
- Ability to use technology, (laptops, desktops, specialized assessment and data analysis software).
- Ability to employ a variety of teaching styles to respond to the needs of diverse learners.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively work and communicate with diverse populations.
- Demonstrated proficiency with business technology applications (e.g. Video/Web Conferencing, Microsoft Office Suite -Word, Excel, Outlook, and/or PowerPoint preferred).
Employee must retain active licenses, certifications, and enrollment as a condition of employment.
- Upon hire, Speech and Language Pathologist License issued by Board of Audiologists, Hearing Aid Dispensers and Speech Language Pathologists required; and
- Upon hire, Speech and Language Pathology Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) Certification issued by American Speech-Hearing-Language Association (ASHA) required.
- Upon hire, National Provider Identifier (NPI) issued by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES) required.
