Description:
This position is primarily responsible for providing administrative assistance to the business office of Annapolis Internal Medicine, LLC. (“AIM”) by performing the following duties within the billing department:
- Collecting, posting and managing account payments.
- Submitting claims and following up with insurance companies.
- Identifies and resolves billing complaints by patients.
- Provides support and answers billing related questions from the various other departments.
- Tracks delinquent accounts and performs actions including contacting patients by phone, mail or through our patient portal.
- Provides assistance in covering the check-out desk as well as the walk-in clinic as needed.
- Verifying insurance eligibility through various insurance websites.
- Balance cash and manages current/prior deposit batches
- Manage unpostables
- Review claims worklist, correcting and resubmitting claims (training for this will beginning about six months after start of job)
- Review zero pay claims
- Enter TCM, PT/INR and Home Health claims.
- Monitor private task bucket in Athena to take care of any messages, issues, items that have been sent directly to us by the patient or a co-worker.
- Enter medical record charges
- Download and Submit Athena and non-Athena remittances (also review missing remittances)
- Enter lab charges
- Check for attachment error queues
- Patient and insurance refunds
