Job Overview:
The Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) Worker supports daily food service operations at school sites by preparing, serving, and cleaning up meals to ensure students receive safe, nutritious, and appealing food in compliance with USDA guidelines. The role is essential in promoting healthy eating habits and supporting a safe and efficient food service environment within the school district.
Schedule and Shift:
- Full-Time / Part-Time (as assigned)
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve meals according to USDA meal pattern requirements.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Clean and sanitize food preparation and service areas, including dishes and utensils.
- Assist with inventory control and restocking as needed.
- Maintain food safety and sanitation standards at all times.
- Follow standardized recipes and portion control procedures.
- Support team members and perform other duties the manager or supervisor assigns.
Qualification:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and sanitation is preferred.
- Must be physically able to lift, carry, and perform repetitive tasks (e.g., bending, standing for long periods).
- Successful completion of district-required training and background checks.
