Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Direct Support Professional to provide daily support to individuals with intellectual disabilities. The ideal candidate is patient, attentive, and committed to promoting independence and well-being.
Responsibilities:
Assist clients each morning with waking, dressing, meals, and preparation for daily activities (as applicable)
Provide instruction and encouragement regarding positive health and personal habits
Plan and lead recreational activities
Follow approved behavioral intervention guidelines as directed by the Psychologist/IDT
Escort clients to designated activities
Perform routine housekeeping duties
Assist clients in preparing for bed when assigned to applicable shifts
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or coursework in a related field preferred
Ability to provide compassionate, respectful support and follow established care plans
