Andrews Behavioral Health offers a number of internship opportunities for students of all levels to gain valued experience, in a variety of fields. Internship opportunities available include the following:

Addictions Counseling
Bachelors
Psychology
Social Work
Masters
Counseling
Health Administration
Nursing
Psychology
Social Work
Bachelor's psychology and social work students will shadow various bachelor-level staff members, gaining valuable experience in a community mental health setting. Opportunities include exposure to different departments such as adult and children's case management, ACT Team, Veterans groups, IDD services, Autism, and Crisis. Expect group supervision meetings twice during the semester.
Now Accepting Social Work Applications for Summer 2026
Master's and doctoral-level counseling, clinical psychology, and social work students will engage in supervised interaction with clients, providing counseling services and participating in the screening and intake process. This fosters the development of interpersonal, diagnostic, and documentation skills. Shadowing opportunities with specialized units are available upon request. Weekly supervision is expected.
Now Accepting Applications for Fall 2026
Graduate nursing students and APRN candidates will engage in structured learning experiences tailored to their clinical requirements. Depending on program needs and the availability of preceptors, students may shadow psychiatric APRNs during evaluations and follow-up medication management appointments, observe mental status exams, treatment planning, and clinical decision-making, gain familiarity with documentation standards, diagnostic considerations, psychopharmacology, therapeutic modalities, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Weekly check-ins with the site preceptor or site administrator are expected for students completing clinical hour requirements.
