What are the responsibilities and job description for the Carrier Sales Representative position at Andover Logistics?
Carrier Sales Representative
Andover Logistics — Bloomfield Twp, MI (In-office preferred, hybrid considered)
Full-time
Come grow with one of the fastest-growing brokerages in the country
Andover Logistics is growing. New customers, new lanes, more freight than our current team can cover. We're looking for a Carrier Sales Representative who already knows this business cold — someone who can walk in, start dialing, and start moving freight in week one.
This isn't a seat we're filling to check a box. Carrier sales is the engine of our business, and the person we hire will have a direct hand in how well we serve the customers we're bringing on this year.
What you'll do
- Source, qualify, and onboard new carrier partners to cover freight across our growing customer base
- Negotiate rates that protect margin without losing the load — and know the difference between a tight market and a bluff
- Book, dispatch, and track loads from tender to delivery
- Build a book of go-to carriers who pick up when you call, because they know you deal straight with them
- Solve problems in real time: breakdowns, late pickups, reloads, detention, whatever the day throws
- Work shoulder-to-shoulder with our customer sales team so commitments made to shippers actually get covered
- Keep the load board, TMS, and carrier records clean and current
What you bring
- 5 years of carrier sales experience at a logistics brokerage
- A working carrier network you can pick up the phone and use
- Real negotiation instincts, backed by a feel for market rates, lane dynamics, and seasonality
- Comfort with load boards, TMS platforms, and carrier vetting/compliance tools
- The temperament for a fast, loud, phone-heavy floor — and the follow-through to close out what you start
- Judgment about who to trust with a load and who to pass on
Why Andover
Growth you can actually feel. We're adding customers and volume at a pace most brokerages talk about and few hit. More freight on the board means more opportunity for the people covering it.
A real seat at the table. We're small enough that your ideas about carrier strategy, pricing, and process get heard — and often implemented.
Room to run. As we grow, so do the roles. The people who help build this are the ones who lead it.
Compensation & benefits
- [Salary, or salary plus commission — we're open to structuring this either way for the right person]
- [Health, dental, and vision coverage]
- [PTO and paid holidays]
Location
Based in Bloomfield Twp, MI. We prefer in-office — carrier sales works better when the team can hear each other — but we'll talk about hybrid for the right candidate.
