Municipal CAD Designer

A growing, small civil engineering firm with a strong municipal presence is seeking a Municipal CAD Designer to join its team in Friendswood. Position Overview

The Municipal CAD Designer will support the production and design of municipal infrastructure projects, with a strong focus on drafting and plan development. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys technical work, taking ownership of plan sets, and collaborating closely with engineers and project managers in a low-ego, team-oriented setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and develop construction plan sets for municipal projects, including roadway, drainage, and utility systems
• Perform grading, drainage, and utility layouts using AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Translate engineer markups and redlines into finalized plans
• Assist with plan revisions, permitting submittals, and as-built drawings
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to support project delivery
• Maintain organization and accuracy across multiple active projects

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in civil/municipal CAD design or drafting
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Experience with grading, drainage, and utility plan production
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment
