Overview
We are seeking an early-career Civil Engineer in Training (EIT) or entry-level civil engineer for a high-priority opening in Lufkin. This role is ideal for a motivated engineer looking to gain hands-on experience in civil infrastructure design within a supportive, team-oriented environment.
The position offers strong exposure to real-world civil design work with a clear PE-track development path, increasing responsibility over time, and consistent mentorship from experienced engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of civil engineering plans and construction documents
- Perform design support using AutoCAD Civil 3D for grading, drainage, utilities, and roadway layouts
- Support plan production, drafting, and technical documentation
- Assist with permitting and coordination with local agencies and municipalities
- Perform basic engineering calculations under supervision of licensed engineers
- Collaborate with project teams including engineers, designers, and PMs
- Participate in field coordination and occasional site visits as needed
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- EIT certification or ability to obtain shortly after hire
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D (required)
- Understanding of basic civil design principles (grading, drainage, roadway design, utilities)
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
- Eagerness to learn and grow within a structured engineering team
