The Regional Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing and implementing safety programs across multiple branches within a designated region. This role ensures compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and customer safety expectations. The Regional Safety Manager provides training, conducts audits, investigates incidents, and partners with operational leaders to promote a proactive safety culture.
Key Responsibilities For The Role
- Serve as the primary safety resource for assigned branches within the region
- Lead and support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions
- Conduct regular site visits, field audits, and safety observations to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements (OSHA, DOT, EPA, etc.)
- Train and coach employees and supervisors on safe work practices, hazard recognition, and company-specific procedures
- Maintain accurate safety documentation, including training records, audits, inspections, and incident reports
- Monitor leading and lagging safety indicators and recommend improvements to reduce risk
- Support new hire orientations and ongoing safety training initiatives
- Work with leadership to develop site-specific safety plans and job hazard analyses (JHAs)
- Ensure the proper use of PPE and safe operation of equipment
- Participate in client meetings and ensure compliance with customer-specific safety expectations
- Stay current with industry best practices and regulatory changes affecting safety performance
- Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned or as deemed necessary by leadership
- 5 years of experience in safety management, preferably in heavy industrial fields (refinery, oil and gas, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and other applicable safety regulations
- Experience conducting training, audits, and investigations
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to travel regularly within the assigned region
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Field and office-based role requiring regular travel to job sites and branch locations
- Must be able to work in industrial environments including confined spaces, heights, and outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to walk, stand, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs. as needed for site inspections
