Amtec Staffing has partnered with a top-performing HVAC and Mechanical Specialty Contractor in Lithonia (East Atlanta), GA.
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Controller to oversee and manage the daily operations of our accounting department. In this critical leadership role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining internal controls, and guiding the organization’s financial decisions to support growth and efficiency.
This is a hands-on role for a proactive financial leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys mentoring a team, and has a strong background in accounting within the construction or related industries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee daily accounting functions including payroll, accounts payable/receivable, treasury, and reporting.
- Prepare and review monthly financial reports, job cost reporting, and departmental income statements.
- Manage banking activities including line of credit monitoring and reconciliations.
- Coordinate and support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Maintain financial accuracy within Acumatica and ensure all periods are properly opened/closed.
- Supervise and support the accounting team, fostering a productive and collaborative work environment.
- Collaborate with leadership to align financial processes with organizational goals and economic conditions.
- Oversee budgeting processes and ensure timely and accurate budget development and analysis.
- Support external audits and coordinate with external CPAs on financial statement reviews, property taxes, and leases.
- Recommend and implement process improvements and ensure adherence to GAAP.
- Manage contract administration support, licensing, and insurance/bond requests.
- Hire, train, and retain top accounting talent in partnership with HR.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience in a Controller or Lead Accounting role, ideally within the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software, with Acumatica experience preferred.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to confidentiality and integrity.
- Experience with Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) is a plus.

Salary : $80,000 - $110,000
