Job Title: Accounting Clerk

Job Location: Irvine, CA 92618

Pay Rate: $20.60/Hr

1st Shift: 8AM - 5PM

Duration: 6 months (Could go longer depending on the performance)

POSITION SUMMARY:
With general supervision, responsible for any combination of calculating, posting and verifying of accounting data of moderate scope and complexity exercising some independent judgement while following well defined procedures in one or more of the following functions: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cost Accounting, Billing and Payroll/Labor.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsibilities may include some or all of the following:
  Process documents such as daily labor cards, progress billings, payroll, shippers, invoices, accounts payable vouchers and travelers checks.
• Type and file vouchers, invoices, statements, reports and maintain records.
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports and operating statements.
• Maintain, check and balance records for accuracy.
• Assist in preparation of journal vouchers and reports.
• Post and balance ledgers.
• Interface with functional departments, management, vendors and customers.
• Distribute paychecks, time cards and reports.
• Assist less experienced personnel.
• Perform other related responsibilities.
  

Job Requirements:

• Two years Accounting/Payroll experience or demonstrated ability to perform described responsibilities.
• Prior computer experience (i.e. Lotus 1,2,3) and data entry preferred.
• Ability to accurately input and calculate numbers and operate a 10 key calculator by touch.
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles as well as California labor laws and taxes where applicable.
• Accurate typing skills of 35 WPM may be required.
• Must demonstrate effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
