Telecommunications Tower Technician/Climber

Looking for a hands-on career that takes you up without taking you away from home? Responsibilities

• Climb tall structures (100 feet or more) with a 50lb load to install, replace, and repair antenna systems, equipment, and tower components.
• Perform routine tower maintenance and assist with construction activities under the guidance of experienced technicians.
• Assist with other Amplex ground-based projects, including service calls, equipment preparation, maintenance work, and other field tasks as needed.
• Basic use and care of hand tools and mechanical equipment.
• Know the hazards associated with tower climbing, construction equipment, and working on or near energized lines and equipment.
• Analyze situations accurately and adopting an appropriate course of action.
• Communicate orally and in writing.
• Follow instructions accurately and completing assigned course of action.
• Recognize safety hazards and performing duties in a safe manner.

Schedule & Pay

• Monday-Friday | 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
• Some weekend and on-call work may occasionally be necessary.
• Starting pay: $22/hour, paid bi-weekly. Can be increased depending on experience.
• This is a local position with no travel other than local, home every night
• Year-round, steady work

Requirements

• Must have High School diploma or equivalent.
• Highly organized and be able to effectively report verbal and written reports back to the Tower Foreman.
• Ability to follow strict safety protocols and take safety seriously.
• Must currently have climbing certification or be willing to obtain climbing certification through Amplex.
• Possession of a valid drivers license with 4 points or less.
• Applicants must submit and pass a criminal background check, pre-employment physical, and pre-employment drug screen.

Must be able to pass a physical, drug screen, background check, and have a good driving record. We are a dog friendly office!
