Interim Assistant Director of Accounting Needed in Mobile, AL!
The Position
- An Interim Assistant Director of Accounting is needed to provide immediate leadership and support for financial operations.
- Reporting to the Director of Accounting, this leader will oversee a team of approximately three FTEs.
- Key responsibilities include managing the month-end close process, preparing financial statement packages and metrics, and coaching staff on journal entries and accounting processes.
- The ideal candidate will have strong healthcare accounting experience, proficiency with financial systems and Excel (including pivot tables), and the ability to step in and quickly assess and improve workflows. Must be highly organized and able to adapt quickly to changing needs. Excellent communication skills will be critical.
- Must be available to start within 2-3 weeks of acceptance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- CPA preferred.
- Must have progressive accounting experience, with prior healthcare experience required.
- Located along the Gulf Coast, Mobile offers beautiful waterfront views and easy access to beaches and outdoor recreation.

- Compensation Range: $150,000 to $155,000 annually.
- The final compensation rate will be determined based on experience, education, training, location, internal equity, and budget considerations, in accordance with Fair Market Value evaluation. Additionally, some candidates may be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, depending on the specific role, including but not limited to health insurance coverage and retirement benefits.
