Position Summary:
The Manager, US Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) Compliance is responsible for establishing, leading, and sustaining a best-in-class FTZ compliance program for Amkor’s Arizona manufacturing facility. This role serves as the primary subject matter expert on FTZ and U.S. Customs regulations, ensuring full regulatory compliance while driving duty savings, operational efficiency, and supply chain optimization. The Manager partners closely with cross-functional stakeholders, corporate compliance, and regulatory agencies to implement strong controls, oversee audits and reporting, and support seamless FTZ operations aligned with business objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation of a robust Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) compliance program for Amkor's Arizona manufacturing facility.
- Develop and operationalize effective FTZ procedures and controls, including the inventory control and recordkeeping system (ICRS), the FTZ operations manual, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and related internal controls.
- Serve as the primary subject matter expert on FTZ and US Customs requirements, guiding and training operational teams and coordinating closely with Amkor's global corporate compliance team.
- Drive compliance and operational excellence to ensure adherence to US Customs regulations, maximize duty savings and enhance supply chain efficiency.
- Serve as the primary liaison with CBP, the FTZ Board, and other regulatory agencies.
- Ensure all FTZ activities, including admissions, exports, and zone-to-zone transfers, are compliant with federal regulations.
- Prepare and submit required reports to CBP and the FTZ Board in a timely and accurate manner.
- Track and report on FTZ cost savings and operational performance to senior leadership.
- Conduct regular internal assessments and audits as well as manage external compliance assessments conducted by CBP.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders in logistics, warehousing, procurement, and finance to support seamless FTZ operations.
- Support the management and oversight of transportation and brokerage service providers relevant to the FTZ.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, business administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5-7 years progressive experience in US Customs compliance and FTZ operations.
- Working knowledge of US import/export regulations, documentation, systems and recordkeeping.
- Licensed Customs Broker or related accreditation highly preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational and analytical skills; self-starter and team player.
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage performance, and drive compliance and operational excellence.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across cultures and time zones.
