We're hiring compassionate and reliable Special Education Paraprofessionals to join a mission-driven team supporting students with disabilities in a classroom and transportation setting.
This is a contract-to-hire opportunity (35-40 hours/week) with ongoing needs and multiple openings . You'll support certified teachers in both academic instruction and behavioral support — and serve as a van aide during student drop-off in the afternoons.

Position Details
Pay: $18.00/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:15 AM-4:30/5:00 PM
Start Date: Targeting the week of December 1st (with holiday closure Dec. 19 - Jan. 2)
Location: Buena Park, CA
Type: Full-time contract position (potential for permanent hire)
What You'll Do
Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with special needs
Reinforce academic, functional, and social-emotional skills under teacher guidance
Assist with toileting, grooming, and other self-help tasks based on student needs
Manage classroom behaviors using proactive, positive reinforcement strategies (ProAct training provided)
Help organize learning materials, adapt the environment, and track student progress
Serve as a van aide in the afternoons — supporting student safety, communication with caregivers, and behavior monitoring during transportation
Accompany students on field trips, work programs, or community-based outings
Who We're Looking For
High school diploma or equivalent required
Bachelor's degree (or coursework) in Education, Psychology, or related field preferred
Experience in special education, ABA, or behavioral support strongly preferred
Ability to assist with toileting and hygiene tasks (required for some student pairings)
Comfortable working with students with diverse physical, behavioral, and communication needs
Able to meet the physical demands of the role: lifting, bending, walking, kneeling, and assisting students with mobility devices
Strong communication skills and ability to stay calm and professional in high-pressure situations
Candidates fluent in sign language, Spanish, or other languages are highly encouraged to apply
