Hayward Animal Clinic is currently looking to hire a Part-time Veterinary Assistant to join our team! The ideal candidate will be a dependable, detail-oriented team player who loves pets and being part of a fun, supportive team. They will have experience with rooming patients, drawing blood, radiology, assisting in surgeries, and proper animal handling & restraint, and being a positive, inclusive and motivating team member.

- Salary: $20 - 26 per hour, and depends on experience, education, licensure, and certifications.
- Schedule: Part-time, two to three 8-hour shifts, Monday – Friday. Saturday coverage is required. Closed on Sunday and all federal holidays. Flexible/Open Availability Required.
- Location: 26775 Hayward Blvd # O, Hayward, CA 94542
- 3 years clinical experience as a veterinary assistant.
- Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
- Passion for working with animals and their owners
- Experience with proper animal handling and restraint
- Understand the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills
- Obtain accurate and thorough medical histories
- Perform basic exam procedures
- Skilled in venipuncture (cephalic, saphenous, and jugular)
- Able to perform digital radiology (X-ray) including positioning
- Comfortable with monitoring general anesthesia and surgical assisting
- Laboratory skills including microscope (ear and fecal cytology); IDEXX in-house laboratory
- Excellent client communication/education
- Adaptable to working well with current doctors and team members
