Key Responsibilities
Project & Installation Leadership
- Lead a crew of technicians while performing hands-on HVAC-R installation and repair work.
- Install, replace, or service HVAC units, refrigeration systems, ice machines, walk-ins, and exhaust/airflow equipment in restaurant and retail settings.
- Conduct jobsite surveys to support estimating and project scope creation.
- Coordinate, manage, and oversee subcontractors and vendors as needed.
- Meet with customers, store management, and site personnel to review project requirements.
- Recognize issues outside scope and escalate appropriately.
- Communicate consistently with the General Manager, Project Managers, and Superintendents to ensure clarity on scope, timelines, and project needs.
- Provide accurate daily reporting, including recaps, photos, paperwork, itineraries, and time sheets.
- Report crew performance concerns and ensure adherence to company standards.
- Effectively field questions and proactively create plans of action for issue resolution.
- Follow jobsite protocols and safety procedures with full awareness of surroundings.
- Source, purchase, and deliver materials in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace for both self and crew.
- Follow installation instructions, manufacturer guidelines, and project specifications.
- Work flexible hours including days, nights, weekends, and extended travel assignments (75–100% travel).
- Complete projects on time and within budget.
- Uphold high-quality workmanship standards.
- Maintain professionalism and composure in rapidly changing environments.
- Ensure all crew members receive appropriate breaks and rest to work safely and effectively.
- Strong commercial HVAC-R background, specifically involving restaurants, retail environments, walk-ins, and ice machine repair/installation.
- Understanding of restaurant airflow, hood systems, exhaust, and make-up air relationships.
- EPA Certification required.
- Minimum 5 years of commercial mechanical or refrigeration installation experience.
- Proficiency with hand tools and mechanical/electrical troubleshooting.
- General knowledge of construction trades and jobsite sequencing.
- Ability to use mobile apps, tablets, and basic computer programs for reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to manage time, lead crews, and follow a scope independently.
- Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and climb ladders.
- Must maintain a clean, professional appearance.
- Must have a valid email address.
- 18 years of age or older.
- Able to pass a background check.
- Access to reliable transportation for local travel and jobsite attendance.
- Dependable, organized, and able to work flexible hours (days/nights/weekends).
- Willing to travel 75–100% for out-of-state national projects.
- Move about job sites around equipment, materials, and personnel.
- Climb ladders or stairs as needed.
- Operate power tools and installation equipment.
- Install/remove equipment in tight and small spaces.
