Our client, a Fortune 250 global medical technology company serving the Clinical Laboratory, Healthcare Research, and Pharmaceutical industries, is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to support manufacturing and quality operations in Durham, NC.
This is an excellent opportunity for professionals with strong experience in quality inspection, GD&T, PCB inspection, precision measurement, and manufacturing quality systems within regulated or high-precision environments.

Duration: 12-Month Contract with Possible Extension
Pay Rate: $30/hr – $36/hr

Position Overview
The Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting products, assemblies, raw materials, tooling, and instruments to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and contract requirements. This role supports quality assurance activities throughout the manufacturing process using standard inspection methods, precision measuring tools, and statistical process control techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect products, parts, assemblies, raw materials, tooling, and instruments for compliance with design and quality requirements
- Utilize measuring devices, testing equipment, and statistical process control (SPC) methods
- Perform Initial Sample Inspection Records (ISIR), First Article Inspections (FAI), and conformity inspections
- Identify, document, and communicate non-conformances and quality issues
- Raise quality notifications and support corrective actions as required
- Support continuous improvement and process improvement initiatives
- Partner with engineering teams to resolve inspection and testing challenges
- Communicate inspection findings and quality concerns with internal and external stakeholders
- Work collaboratively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment
- Perform additional duties as needed to support business operations
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent experience required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum 5 years of quality inspection or manufacturing experience in a relevant industry
- Strong blueprint reading and geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T) interpretation skills
- Experience with PCB and cabling inspections
- Knowledge of UL components compliance
- Experience using precision measuring instruments and inspection equipment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in a quality discipline preferred (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT), ASQ Certified Quality Auditor, etc.)
- Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) preferred
