$500 Sign on Bonus! (1st time hire only)
1st Shift: Start time between 5:30a-8:00a (9.5-10 hour shift)
2nd Shift: Start time approx. 4:00p (9.5-10 hour shift)
Job purpose
This position is responsible for the inspection of pouches and polytrays to identify product out of required specifications.
Duties and responsibilities
- Conduct pre and post retort monitoring by examining product for various defects such as cuts, holes, contamination blisters, bad codes,etc.
- Stand next to the inspection line and/or walk the line to examine specific pouches based on line position.
- Rework and/or rearrange product on the line
- Maintain a pace that matches production line requirements
- Communicate issues to line operator and/or production supervisor
- Contribute to company efforts by accomplishing other related tasks as needed
Qualifications
- Maintain a passing status on standard timed pouch and polytray inspection tests
- General math, reading, and data entry skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast changing environment
- Ability to work both independently and in a team setting
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with other team members
- Ability to follow all work instructions and safety procedures
- Strong organizational and time management skills
Physical requirements
While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively with a high level of dexterity; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 25 pounds. Must have the ability to grasp with one or both hands and extend arms up to 3 feet at, below, or above shoulder height repeatedly throughout the shift. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus. Must also have the ability to distinguish color codes on packaging materials. Operating in standard seasonal warehouse and food processing plant temperature conditions will be required. Work is completed in a facility where nuts, fruits and other allergens are present.
