Job Description
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Inbound Lead provides leadership and direction to Inbound Warehouse Associates including pre-shift work planning and delegation/assignment of work each shift. Additionally, the Lead is responsible for completing the work of receiving/stocking Warehouse Associate. Working collaboratively with the Operations Manager, the receiving stocking/receiving assists in ensuring that operations align with company-wide strategies and initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and communicate daily work plans and goals based on facility needs
- Complete all reporting required for pre and post shift and provide operational data from Inbound Processes
- Work closely with Inbound Manager to achieve budgeted UPH and quality standards
- Facilitate effective communication to associates in the department through daily huddles
- Perform routine Inbound Warehouse Associate duties, including but not limited to scanning, counting, and stacking items onto carts/shelves, in a fast and accurate manner
- Move product using a forklift
- Responsible for following and promoting all safety rules, regulations and guidelines daily
- Ensure that operations are aligned and performed to achieve Inbound key performance indicators including productivity, quality, and safety
- Monitor work processes to determine how current processes could be improved from a productivity, quality, or safety perspective
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of related warehouse operations experience
- Prior leadership experience strongly preferred
Skills
- Proven ability to lead work teams successfully, while displaying core leadership skills
- Prior experience using radio-frequency scanner preferred.
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills
- Forklift certified or become forklift certified and be able to retain certification
- Good problem-solving skills
- Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office and Outlook)
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to create and maintain professional relationships with management, senior management, and corporate office personnel
- Ability to make on the spot decisions based on training and experience
Physical and Environmental Requirements
- Stand for long period of time, up to 4 continuous hours, 8 – 12 hours during a shift
- Walk up to 8 miles a day. Walking short distances through the department/building
- Use hands/arms to operate required equipment and repetitive motion activities
- Lift objects up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance
- Communicate using speech, sight, and sound with or without assistive device
- Bend, stoop or crouch while performing daily activities of the job
- Effective verbal and written communications skills
