American Traveler is hiring a Sonographer with at least 1 year of experience, ARDMS/RVT certification, and OB and arterial extremity Doppler experience for an acute care hospital ultrasound department in Weirton, WV.
Details- Acute care hospital radiology/ultrasound department with 3 ultrasound rooms
- Studies include general ultrasound, OB, small parts, and vascular ultrasound (upper and lower venous and arterial extremity)
- Approximately 35 scans/studies performed per day across 24 hours
- EMR: Epic (Community Works); PACS: Intellirad/Intelliconnect
- Primary equipment includes Siemens S2000
- IV placement is required as part of this role
- 3x12-hour day shifts, 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM, on a 3-2-2 rotating schedule
- Alternating weekends (every other weekend)
- No on-call or standby requirement
- No floating to other departments required
- Minimum 1 year of sonography experience
- OB and arterial extremity Doppler experience required
- ARDMS and/or RVT (via ARDMS) certification required
- Current BLS required
- WV state license required if applicable
- WV CARES completion required prior to start
- A valid, unexpired driver's license is required for consideration
- Must be able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Two professional references required (1 supervisor, 1 peer or additional supervisor)
- Skills checklist completed within the past year required for consideration
- First-time travelers will be considered for this position
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Travelers who have previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a minimum 2-year break before re-applying
- Travelers may not work within the WVU system for longer than a cumulative 1 year without taking a 2-year break
- Orientation consists of 5 shifts with a preceptor
- Radiologist is in-house until 5:00 PM; on-call and VRad coverage handles interpreting from 2:00 AM – 6:00 AM
- Supervision provided by an Imaging Director and Manager Monday–Friday during daylight hours, available by phone at all other times
- Holiday rotation coverage may be required
- Any color of clean, professional scrubs may be worn; permanent staff wear Emerald Green (not required for travelers)
