Description
American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with at least 3 years of OR experience for a 13-week travel contract at a busy Level II trauma center in Kyle, TX.
Details
- Work in a busy Level II trauma center operating room with 8 ORs
- Surgery unit staffed with PCTs, 3 supervisors, and team leads
- Patient population includes orthopedic, trauma, Gen/GYN, urology, and DaVinci robotic surgery cases; vascular and CVOR experience is a strong plus
- Charting is done in Cerner
- Schedule is Tuesday through Friday, 10-hour shifts from 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM
- On-call rotation includes weekdays, weekends, and holidays
- No floating to other units required
- Scrub color is sky blue
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of OR/surgical tech experience required
- Surgical Tech credential from NBSTSA or NCCT required
- BLS certification required (AHA or American Red Cross accepted)
- High school diploma with 2 years of cumulative experience, an Associate's or Technical degree, or 4 years of applicable job-specific experience required
- License required if applicable
- Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address
- Two professional references required
- Copy of Driver's License required for consideration
- Full SSN and full DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Facilitate the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures
- Prepare the surgical suite with sterile drapes, solutions, and appropriate sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies
- Hand required instruments and supplies to the surgeon during procedures
- Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients
- Maintain organized instrument management and monitor instrument counts throughout procedures
- Local candidates are accepted but may be subject to a reduced pay rate based on proximity to the facility
- COVID vaccination is not required by this facility
