Description
American Traveler is seeking a Certified OR Technologist with vascular experience and a broad surgical skill set for a hospital Operating Room position requiring float and call availability.
Details
- Hospital Operating Room setting
- 12-hour day shifts scheduled Monday through Sunday, with weekend shifts as needed
- Float and call required; maximum call is once post-shift per week and one weekend day per 4-week schedule period
- Broad surgical case mix including vascular, orthopedic, robotics, general surgery, ENT, plastics, and neurosurgery
- No block scheduling available for any reason
- 4-week contract
Requirements
- Vascular surgical experience is required
- Close to 2 years of OR Tech experience required
- Prior travel experience preferred
- Work history from a similarly sized facility with Trauma Level II or higher required
- NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- BLS certification required
- Two professional references required — at least one from a Nurse Manager or Supervisor within the past 6 months, and one from within the past year of employment
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- License required if applicable
- Reliable personal transportation is strongly recommended, as public transportation is not accessible in this area; vehicles should be equipped with all-season or snow tires from November through April
Additional Information
- Assist with a wide range of surgical procedures including vascular, orthopedic, robotic, general, ENT, plastics, and neurosurgery cases
- Scrub and support the surgical team in maintaining sterile technique throughout procedures
- Candidates holding a NY license should have proof of pending licensure; VT licensure is not required at time of application
- Prior travel experience is preferred but not explicitly required
- All employment gaps of more than 90 days must be explained in the work history
- Complete work history including bed count, EMR, facility type, and trauma level is required for consideration
