American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Step-Down/Intermediate Unit position requiring telemetry, cardiac, and stroke experience with ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications.
Details- Short-term acute care hospital setting on a 7th Floor Intermediate/Step-Down unit
- True cardiac floor serving cardiac, stroke, and renal patient populations
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Cardiac drip experience required, including familiarity with drips such as Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Lasix
- Hemodialysis-capable beds available; renal patients are part of the caseload (HD performed by an outside company)
- All modes of oxygenation used, excluding ventilators
- Charting in Cerner
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
- Every other weekend required
- Every other holiday required
- Floating required to like or lesser units within scope to meet facility needs
- Active Indiana RN license or valid Compact RN license required prior to start (pending license accepted if active before start date)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required (2 years preferred)
- Telemetry and cardiac/stroke experience required
- Cardiac drip experience required
- Must pass a telemetry rhythm identification quiz prior to placement
- Proficiency in reading, identifying, and responding to cardiac rhythms is mandatory
- Candidate must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Scrub color requirement: Royal Blue or White
- Parking is available at no cost overnight in facility garages and in designated outside lots; garage parking during day hours costs $9/day
- All time-off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required for consideration
- A full 7-year work history with all gaps explained is required for consideration
