American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Step-Down/Intermediate Care Unit (SCU/IMC) position in Damariscotta, Maine, requiring 5 years of experience and proficiency with vasoactive drips and ventilators.
Details- Work in an 8-bed SCU/IMC unit within a hospital setting
- Patient population includes SCU, IMC, and Med/Surg patients, with rare swing bed cases
- Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:4
- Specialized equipment includes ventilators, ceiling lifts, infusion pumps, feeding tubes, chest tubes, and SCD boots
- EMR system is Epic
- Shifts are 12 hours, days (6a–6p) or nights (6p–6a)
- 36 hours per week with every other weekend required at minimum
- No on-call requirements
- Occasional float to Med/Surg, with a 25-mile float policy between facilities as needed
- Active Maine (ME) or Compact RN license required
- Minimum 5 years of RN experience required
- Experience with vasoactive drips and ventilators required
- ICU or SCU background preferred
- Driver's License required for consideration
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- 2 professional references required for consideration
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Candidates residing within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility (Maine or New Hampshire residents) are considered local and may be subject to a different bill rate
- Local travelers are not eligible for contract renewals or extensions
- Candidates who have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months should be noted accordingly
- Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position
- Use of AirPods, laptops, and cell phones on the unit is prohibited
- The ideal candidate is down-to-earth, a team player, proactive, and holds high professional standards
