Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications with 2 years of stepdown experience.
Details
- Work in a 24-bed Progressive Care Unit (Stepdown) within an acute care hospital setting
- Level 2 trauma center
- Patient ratio of 1:3/4 depending on acuity
- Patient population includes dysrhythmias, cardiopulmonary conditions, sepsis, high flow O2 needs, and behavioral health patients requiring IV drip medications
- Administers medication drips including dopamine, levophed, cardizem, heparin, precedex, nitro, amio, dobutamine, and Nicardine
- Uses EPIC EMR system
- 12-hour night shifts
- May work up to every other weekend
- High patient throughput typical of stepdown units
Requirements
- Active IL RN license currently in hand
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- BSN not required for this position
Additional Information
- Unit has a dedicated educator who works closely with staff
- Provide direct patient care for stepdown patients with complex cardiopulmonary and medication management needs
