American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist with 2 years of experience for a hospital assignment treating adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients.

• Hospital setting providing respiratory care to adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients
• Performs pulmonary function testing, extubations, airway management, and ventilatory life support
• Varied shift schedule, mostly nights with some day shifts as needed
• 13-week assignment length

• High school diploma or GED required
• Completion of an approved Respiratory Therapy program
• Credentialed by the NBRC as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a certified Respiratory Therapist
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• License required if applicable
• Flu vaccine required
• Skilled in use of mechanical ventilators and interpretation of arterial blood gases
• Ability to work independently and under adverse conditions, including exposure to communicable diseases

• Participates in assessment, administration, and evaluation of respiratory therapy treatments for critically ill patients
• Collaborates with healthcare professionals on pulmonary function tests, arterial blood gases, and airway management
• Provides patient education on respiratory therapy equipment and treatments
• Responsible for cleaning, care, and maintenance of respiratory equipment
• Works independently without supervisory responsibilities
